Captain Elder
Captain Elder is a member of Mia's Gang, and a major antagonist in the future game Five Whole Nights at Mia's.
Appearance
Captain Elder is a light-skinned humanoid character resembling a pirate with black hair and eyes. He wears a captain hat with a red feather and a skull on it. He wears a large, brown coat with a gray tie and black buttons. The coat also has dark yellow extremities. Elder also has a white glove on his right hand, and a hook on his left hand. He has gray pants, a brown shoe on his left foot, and a peg on his right foot. Lastly, He wears an eyepatch on his right eye, which he can take off, revealing a permanently black eye with a yellow pupil.
Personality
Elder seems to be a rather introverted and reclusive character, often spending most of his time in his cove, reminiscing his past adventures. He is also very grouchy, as shown in his third phase in CAM 3, where He also retells his experiences to children to inspire them to accomplish their dreams.
Behavior
Five Whole Nights at Mia's
Normal Nights
Elder first becomes active on Night 2 at 1 AM. He is inside the curtains in CAM 3 and will slowly leave the curtains if the camera isn't checked frequently. If his camera is checked at any point while he's still in CAM 3, his movement timer will freeze until the camera isn't on for a few seconds. He progresses through six phases:
- Phase 1, where he is completely inside the curtains.
- Phase 2, where he peeks out of the curtains with a glowing yellow eye.
- Phase 3, where he is partly outside the curtains (his lower half is still inside), looking at the player angrily.
- Phase 4, where he is now fully outside the curtains, stretching presumably due to his old age.
- Phase 5, where he is at the right of the room, grinning evilly.
- Phase 6, where he has left the room, with his "Do Not Disturb" sign being scribbled black, and having "I'm coming" in red instead.
Once Elder reaches, Phase 6, he will laugh, giving the player a warning. After a few seconds afterwards he will appear behind the window, running either from the right side to the left, or vice versa. The player must quickly shut the door he is running to to avoid a jumpscare. His running noises will also change which side they're loudest from depending on which door he's going to, but it's easier to have the cameras down and watch him, as this aspect of the sound cue can be hard to notice due to how little time there is to block him.
Task 2
During Task 2, Elder will make crawling noises inside the vent every so often, forcing the player to stand still to stop him from leaping at them and killing them.

- Captain Elder's name could very possibly be a nickname, but his real name, if he it isn't "Elder," is unknown.
- Captain Elder is one of three characters in the game that can be slowed down by watching them on the cameras, the others being Mia and Captain Elder.
- This is because of how his mechanic works.
