Five Whole Nights at Mia's is a Five Nights at Freddy's-inspired indie horror game made by Loonarin-San. The game's only demo was released on August 25, 2023, with several patches being released in the following days. The full version is currently in development, and while a release date has not been given, it will likely be released somewhere in 2024.

Summary

"You're an average man, Benjamin Smith, who is looking for a job. One day, in 2018, you read the newspaper and find something related to Mia's Restaurant, a place where Mia and her gang entertain kids and grown-ups alike. The restaurant is currently looking for someone to be a night guard to watch over the place. Your job: watch over the building from 12 to 6 AM. Simple, right?

However, things at the restaurant are not as they seem. Mia and her friends have a strange tendency to wander around the building at night, and for some odd reason, will kill anyone who attempts to enter the building after hours. And that includes you. Now, you'll have to survive five whole nights defending yourself from them."

Development

In late 2021, before this game and even the Loonari-Verse existed, there was a project called "Five Nights at Mika's" that Loonarin-San had been working on. It featured early designs of Mia, Bouncy, Baker Barbara, Captain Elder, Marvick, and Golden Mia, then named "Mika," "Bouncy," "Cakey," "Elder," "Marvey," and "Golden Mika" respectively. Mika and Golden Mika were the only humanoid designs, with everyone else seemingly made of geometric shapes. The game was heavily based on the original Five Nights at Freddy's, with Marvey's mechanic essentially combining Bouncy and Cakey's with Spindly's from Five Nights at Yoshi's. Loonarin-San made several teasers, planned a series, and was able to finish the project, but was not satisfied with how unoriginal it was and never ended up releasing it to the public. He then secretly scrapped the series altogether.

On March 27, 2023, Loonarin-San announced that Five Nights at Mika's had been canceled, and that instead of continuing development on it, he would reboot the series into Five Whole Nights at Mia's, a game that would feature new designs for Mika and her friends, some new characters, and better mechanics. Mia and the other members of her new gang were created that same day, with several other designs being shown almost a month later (the post, however, has been deleted for spoiler-related reasons).

In mid-May 2023, Loonarin-San officially began the development of Five Whole Nights at Mia's, starting from scratch. The Gamejolt page was then published on June 3. A 2-night demo came out on August 25, with several patches made afterward.

A devlog was posted on the game's development on October 23, 2023. The full version is currently in development, without a planned release date.
