Queen Irene is the matriarch of the Phoenix Kingdom, and Princess Edith’s mom.

Personality

While well-meaning and hardworking, she has just as short of a temper as anyone in the Phoenix Kingdom. She showed little respect for her daughter, viewing her as a bargaining chip and trying to make her a "proper lady” (and by that she meant exactly like herself). She forced her into a relationship with Zorori because of his reputation as a fighter, thus ensuring the Kingdom is safe, and never really took into account Edith's feelings. When she goes missing however, Irene genuinely regrets having been so harsh to her. When Cast returns Edith, Irene has to confront her past mistakes, which she succeeds at, and becomes a lot nicer.
