Thoroot
Thoroots are root-like creatures that debut in Let's Go, Archie!.
Appearance
Thoroots have a square-like appearance to them, referencing square roots. Their bodies, but not their heads, are covered in thorns.

Thoroots initially appear as small, protruding shoots. They can be encountered on the ground on the sides of trees. Upon spotting a player, they extend along a predetermined pattern from their living spots. Their thorn-covered bodies damage players that stand on them, and are immune to most attacks. To defeat a Thoroot, one must attack its unprotected tip to force it to back up towards and eventually smack against its living spot. Ground pounds knock them back further than normal jumps, fireballs, or Estivan's water blasts.
Etymology
Thoroot is derived from thorough and root, as in a square root.
